The book itself contains numerous photos of Racso and Erk, and one page also shows a part of the cover of the "Triste Desprecio" demo tape and the cover of the "Autoagresión Persistente" demo tape.

Track #4-14 is misspelled as "Odio Bajo el Alma" in booklet and on backcover.


All songs by Racso Agroyam and Erk Aicrag.

"Misuse, Abuse and Accident" and "Autoagresión Persistente" were digitalized by Mike Silva and Erk Aicrag using a Yamaha natural sound KX890 Tape Deck and a Pioneer PDR-W839 CD recorder.

All songs were made using a Yamaha SY85, an Ibanez Mostortion pedal and an Alesis Quadraverb effects processor.

Most of the material in this 10 year anniversary edition dates back to Hocico's earliest period and has a special meaning for us, not only as a band, but as cousins and friends as well. At the time, we made these recordings for our own pleasure, just to prove that we could write songs, and never expected it would come to anything.

Back in those days, Racso and I lived a block away from each other, and the first recordings were done in his bedroom using the family home stereo, with a portable tape recorder as a mic. Racso had barely mastered the rudiments of the glorious Yamaha SY85, which we still use in all our concerts and recordings, and I was pretty crude at the microphones; but what we did have loads of was energy and passion for what we loved the most: Making music.

"Autoagresión Persistente", our second demo, was recorded in much the same manner, and it wasn't until our third demo, "Triste Desprecio", that we began to experiment with a mixer and an MD recorder that we managed to weasel out of a friend of a friend. Our sound was rough and raw and annoying and found an audience in alternative venues, such as construction sites, backyards, strip clubs and bars, where we played on the same stage with all types of bands of the then Mexican underground urban scene. The experience obviously had a strong impact on us that would eventually find its way into our music and help define what Hocico is today.

The bonus tracks are a part from our collection of home improvisations, out-takes and complete and incomplete songs made between 1993 and 1998 that, for one reason or another, were never released. We would like to apologize for the audio errors and overall quality of some of the material included here. We did our best to rescue these recordings from tapes that have gotten damaged over the years, just to be able to share them with you.

Thanks to all of you Hocicones everywhere for keeping our name and spirit alive.
